The Midday Parade: Celebration of the Guilds
Step into a vibrant procession honoring the artistry, skill, and spirit of the Faire community! The Celebration of the Guilds marks The Regathering, uniting all guilds to rejoice in earth, life, art, and the bonds of community.
Marshaled by the Dragon Bones Guild and led by All the Saints Theater Company of the Thespian Guild, the parade weaves together Ren Faire characters, guild members, and the stirring music of the Hardy Woodland Players. Before the procession begins, All the Saints invite audiences to craft puppets and join in the creative celebration. Guests are encouraged to march along the parade route, adding their energy and presence to this reclamation of tradition.
A celebration of humanity, artistry, and the enduring power of community, the Celebration of the Guilds is a parade of purpose, where everyone can join the procession, raise their voices, and stand together in honor of the earth, art, and reclaimed tradition.

The Alley
The Combat Guild brings together fighters, guards, and martial artists who treat combat as a disciplined art form rather than an act of war. Their sparring is ritualized and intentional, an expression of focus, discipline, and embodied skill. Through training, demonstration, and mentorship, they inspire the brave, engage the curious, and show younger generations that strength is shaped through practice, patience, and care.
Throughout the Faire, live combat demonstrations take place in The Alley, the Guild’s dedicated arena, where mastery is measured in timing, endurance, and honor.
The Combat Guild is proudly represented by Virago Alley, who is organizing HEMA demonstrations featuring practitioners from local and regional HEMA groups including members from Virago Alley, VCU HEMA, RVA MFFG, Scuffletown, and Ludus Ferocia, alongside demonstrations from the SCA Barony of Caer Mear and the Japanese Sword Arts Study Group (JSARVA). Together, these groups bring historical and martial traditions to life, showing that honor, resilience, and discipline are forged through practice and dedication.
