Virago Alley’s mission is to provide an accessible and inclusive platform for the exploration, education, and preservation of historical martial arts and artisan trades.

Through skill development and community building, Virago Alley seeks to position the arts as a powerful tool to promote connection, collaboration, and a deeper understanding of the world around us. We encourage people to be the architects of the future that they want to build, by connecting with practices that connect us to the past.

Both through education programming and events, such as the Richmond Ren Faire, Virago Alley creates a space for individuals and local organizations to come together over a shared passion for historic disciplines.
